Jillian Schlesinger is an independent filmmaker based in Brooklyn, New York.  Her debut film, Maidentrip, premiered at SXSW in 2013 and won the Visions Audience Award. Maidentrip has screened at festivals, in theaters, and on television worldwide, and received nominations for Gotham Awards and Cinema Eye Honors. Paste Magazine named Jillian one of 10 Women Directors to Watch in 2014.

Jillian is also a writer, director, and editor of television promos and independent film trailers. Her work has appeared on networks including AMC, SundanceTV, and BBC America. Jillian's promo for SundanceTV's Dysfunctional Family Thanksgiving won a 2010 Promax Award in the "Something for Nothing" category.

Jillian grew up in Santa Cruz, California and graduated from Brown University where she studied creative writing and linguistic anthropology.
